Your chefs:

Mark Birchall opened Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms in March 2017, with a focus on delicate, produce-driven menus inspired by Moor Hall’s exceptional surroundings and home-grown ingredients.
Within six months, the Restaurant at Moor Hall was awarded its first Michelin star, with a second star following in the 2019 Michelin Guide. Moor Hall was awarded a Michelin Green star for its efforts in sustainability in 2022. Moor Hall holds five AA rosettes in the AA Restaurant Guide, and a World class status in the Good Food Guide.
Mark Birchall was crowned ‘Best Chef in the UK’ after winning the Chefs’ Chef of the Year award at the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards 2022, which celebrate the very best in the industry.
At The National Restaurant Awards 2024, Moor Hall ranked third place in the top 100 list, having held first and then second place for the previous four years.
In October 2017, Mark launched his neighbourhood restaurant, The Barn at Moor Hall. In 2022, The Barn was awarded a Michelin Star. The Barn also holds three AA rosettes.
Gareth Ward is Chef Owner of Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms, a Two Michelin Star Restaurant located in the idyllic Welsh countryside. Born and raised in County Durham, Gareth made the move to Wales in 2013 to head the Ynyshir Restaurant kitchen with then owners Mr & Mrs Reen.
In his first full year at Ynyshir, Gareth and his team were awarded their first Michelin Star, and Gareth was named “Chef to Watch” by The Good Food Guide. In collaboration with his long-time partner Amelia Eiríksson, Ynyshir has changed exponentially since they took over control and part ownership in 2016.
Rafael Cagali Originally from São Paulo, Rafael draws on his Brazilian and Italian heritage to guide his creative vision. He spent years living in both Italy and Spain working with the likes of Chef Stefano Baiocco at A Villa Feltrinelli, Chef Quique Dacosta and Martin Berasategui.
Da Terra is Rafael Cagali’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant located in Bethnal Green’s historic Town Hall Hotel, a building which originally dates back to 1910. Opened in January 2019, Da Terra – which translates to of the Earth – won its first Michelin star just eight months later and its second in 2021.
